I was sitting on a hot day in the shadow of the huge granite rocks on Clifton third beach in Cape Town and felt at peace. Serene. In my sanctuary.
Also, reclining in a green metal chair under the Horse Chestnut trees in the north-east corner of the Place de la Concorde, adjacent to the Jeu de Paume, looking towards the Eiffel Tower.
Or sitting on a warm evening in my parent’s garden in South Africa after the sprinklers have been on.
We all have our sanctuaries. So, where is yours and can I take your portrait in it please?
Sanctuary is a long-running, ongoing photography project.
